What happens during treatment?

Frequently asked questions are:

Does the therapy take long?

Is the therapy painful?

Where can I get treatment?

Will health insurance pay?

In the following, those questions will be answered. You can obtain more information from your orthopaedist.

You will also find answers to frequently asked questions at "Service / Patients".

The doctor will carry out a simple, manual examination of the painful area, using ultrasound in the case of shoulder pain.

This will be followed by the Radial Shockwave Therapy®. Treatment is carried out by passing over the injured area with the shockwave applicator.

Guided by the patient's feedback, the exact positioning of the shockwave applicator is determined for optimum results.

The therapy usually takes one to three sessions of about ten minutes each. Marked pain relief is observed in most patients in just eight to ten days after the first treatment.

Radial Shockwave Therapy® works without the use of x-ray equipment or drugs. It stimulates the body's natural self-healing forces and therefore is well tolerated.
